At-Large Directors

For current LWF members, you can help LWF by serving on the Board of Directors as an At-Large Director!

The Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF) is accepting nominations for available seats on its Board of Directors representing District 2 (Jefferson, LaFourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist Parishes), District 4 (Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Lincoln, Bienville, Jackson Parishes), District 6 (Washington, Tangipahoa, St. Helena, Livingston, Ascension, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Pointe Coupee Parishes), and District 8 (Grant, LaSalle, Catahoula, Concordia, Rapides, Avoyelles, Evangeline, St. Landry Parishes). To be eligible to serve, a candidate must be a resident of (or employed in) their District, have been a contributing member of the LWF for at least one full year prior to January 1, 2017, and must keep his/her membership dues current for the duration of service on the Board.

The LWF Board of Directors is the organization’s chief governing authority and supports the work of LWF and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. The purpose of the Board of Directors is to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of the LWF to support the organization’s mission and needs. It elects from its members the LWF’s executive officers and oversees the development and implementation of Federation policy and programs. Board members can be very influential in conservation matters through their association and cooperation with other board members and LWF affiliates. Serving as an LWF director offers many opportunities – to serve as a Federation spokesperson on behalf of habitat conservation, environmental quality and fish and wildlife resources; to meet and join with others concerned about conservation and the environment; and to develop and implement strategies to help ensure a bright future for our natural resources so that we, as well as generations to follow, can continue to enjoy them. Self-nominations are acceptable and encouraged.
