Atchafalaya on the Web - post your Basin photos
The Atchafalaya Basin Program has added a new feature to its website giving the public the ability to share memories and experiences, whether of working in the Basin or enjoying recreational time there, by posting photos on the site. Accessible on the right-hand side of the site under "Basin Pics," it offers the opportunity to e-mail a photo, caption and other information to a secure DNR site for review and posting. Photos should be appropriate to public website, but can be on any subject matter related to activity in the Basin, from hunting or fishing trips to amateur nature shots or anything else reflecting life in the Basin.
The site includes links to the U.S. Geological Survey's web-based tracking of water levels in the basin and has up-to-date weather for the Basin area and links to parishes and tourism and conservation groups with ties to the Basin. It also provides notice of meetings and other announcements pertaining to the Atchafalaya Basin Program and the development and execution of the state's master plan for conservation and management of the Atchafalaya Basin.
