Nominations Sought For State Conservation Awards Recognizing Achievement in 2014

The Louisiana Wildlife Federation is accepting nominations for the 51st Governor's State Conservation Achievement Awards.  The program recognizes those persons and organizations making outstanding contributions to the natural resource welfare and environmental quality of the community, parish and state.

There are eight award categories for which nominations can be made for conservation achievement in 2014.  They are: professional, volunteer, business, educator, youth, elected official, communications and organization.

Nominations will be accepted until February 11, 2015.  The awards will be presented on March 28, 2015 at a banquet to be held at Juban’s in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The awards themselves are handsome statuettes of majestic wild animals and are unique to the program.

LWF members and the public can help by identifying and nominating any individual, organization or business demonstrating significant achievement in 2014 in their efforts to conserve fish and wildlife resources, to enhance opportunities for all of our citizens to enjoy the outdoors, to improve the quality of the environment, and to educate and advocate on behalf of our natural resources in Louisiana.
