The Louisiana Waterfowl Alliance will hold its next general meeting on Saturday, April 18th 2015 in Lafayette, LA. The meeting will be held at the Robichaux Recreation Center, 1919 Eraste Landry Rd, beginning at 4:00 PM.
Guest speakers for the event will be representatives of the LA Department of Wildlife & Fisheries who will inform the group about the many changes that will affect hunters in the upcoming seasons. These presenters will also discuss changes to the state’s zone that may occur in 2016.
There will also be a discussion of a bill pending in congress that would enhance chances for farmers and land owners in the states north of us to plant a second crop that could be manipulated to attract water fowl. The LWA is concerned that this bill could do even more to decrease the annual migration to our state.
The LWA will also conduct its annual election of officers and board of directors for the coming year. Information on upcoming events and projects will also be provided during the evening.
LWA members, those interested in becoming a member of LWA and members of the public at large are invited to attend. A meal, at no cost to attendees, will be served to all in attendance.
