Louisiana Wildlife Federation Seeks Development Director

Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF), a statewide organization representing a broad constituency of conservationists including hunters, anglers, campers, birders, boaters, and other outdoor enthusiasts who believe in conservation and protection of our state's natural resources, is seeking a an experienced fundraiser and innovative leader to serve as the LWF Development Director.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Work with staff members and the board of directors to develop and implement strategies to raise the annual budget and enhance the reputation and brand of Louisiana Wildlife Federation
Develop and report on an annual fundraising plan
Increase individual giving through membership and foster membership retention through strategic use of direct mail, email campaigns, social media, events, emerging technology, etc.
Foster the growth of the LWF Business Alliance membership
Coordinate ongoing core fundraising strategies, including special appeals, event sponsorships, silent auction
Support the cultivation of new grant funding prospects and new large donor prospects
Apply innovation and adaptation in nonprofit giving in a rapidly changing sector
Qualifications: The ideal candidate is a leader with at least five years in direct fundraising and management in nonprofits, experience with budgeting and finance; and a passion for and some familiarity with Louisiana's natural resource conservation issues.
Minimum requirements include:
Three years of experience in non-profit fundraising
Demonstrated success in managing and motivating volunteers
Proven track record raising money through a variety of sources
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask, handle deadlines, determine and juggle priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment with a small staff and a large board of directors
Demonstrated ability to write membership fundraising letters, foundation funding proposals, and case statements
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), the web, social media, and email
Experience with a constituent management database
Experience with data-driven outreach and fundraising strategies, such as engagement ladders, targeted marketing, and audience-based communication; and editing and design software
Experience coordinating fundraising efforts with a board of directors
Experience with creating and managing a budget and understanding of non-profit finances
The Development Director will work out of the Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF) office in Baton Rouge and report to the LWF Executive Director.  Expectation of some evening and weekend work as called for.
Salary is $50,000 per year.  This is a salaried, full-time position. Benefits include health and dental insurance coverage for which the employer pays up to $400 per month of the premium; contribution to an IRA plan after one year of employment; and specified paid holidays, sick days and vacation days.
