The Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF), along with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are encouraging Louisiana hunters 15 years old and younger to enter the 2023 Youth Hunter of the Year competition.
All youth hunters who participated in any hunting activities during 2023 are eligible. This award is about highlighting young hunters enjoying the hunting experience, not about the success of the hunt.



To enter the 2023 Youth Hunter of the Year contest:
- Complete and submit nomination form by clicking the button below
- Submit a short story describing your hunt
- Submit a photo(s) of your hunt
Eligibility Requirements:
- Hunter must be a Louisiana resident
- Hunter must be 15 years old or younger at the time of the hunt
- The hunt should take place between January and December 2023
- One entry per youth hunter
- Short story should be written by the youth
- Previous winners are not eligible
