Conservation Leadership Corps Applications Open Until May 10th

The Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF) is now accepting applications for the Edgar Veillon Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC), a program designed to prepare the next generation of conservation leaders in Louisiana.

Undergraduate students age 18 or older who will be enrolled at a Louisiana college or university during the 2026–27 school year are eligible to apply. Participants will build leadership skills, learn how to analyze conservation policy, and gain experience advocating for real-world solutions.

The program is led by professionals working in natural resource conservation across the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. Through presentations, case studies, and group activities, students will engage with real-world challenges and develop skills in leadership and advocacy related to coastal restoration, water management, forestry, and wildlife sustainability.

This year’s program will have four sessions—two in the fall and two in the spring—which will include a weekend retreat at Chicot State Park, a tour of the River Model in Baton Rouge, and attendance at the Louisiana Wildlife Federation’s Annual Convention.

There is no fee to apply. Students who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment, a letter of commendation, and a $200 scholarship. Participants will also receive a complimentary one-year membership to the Louisiana Wildlife Federation to stay involved in conservation efforts.

Deadline to apply: Sunday, May 10, 2026
