As the RESTORE Council begins the early planning stages for the third Funded Priorities List (FPL), they offered several recommendations to ensure that the FPL includes the best investments to enhance ecosystem restoration goals. We believe that such enhancements in conjunction with various other proactive efforts will ensure restoration efforts are strategic and maximize the opportunity that the settlement provides. Some of these recommendations include identifying priority watersheds/estuaries, providing forums for public input, and identifying underlying stressors and most pressing ecosystem needs.
